Thanks for your comment! You've got the secret, the book says "repetition is the key to master almost anything". A good teacher should be able to tell a student how many times he has to do something before he "gets" it. 2000 phrases for 3 weeks? I'd have to try it with my husband :-)</description>

I would want to learn Japanese the same way I would teach English, using the 'Howitzer' method. :-), which is "bombard the brain with the top 2000 set phrase for three weeks at which time you arrive at near-fluency."
